MOVING FAST WITHOUT LOSING CONTROL.
BRG Technologies' working model creates a particular challenge for health and safety oversight. The company manages its supply chain rather than directly employing the majority of workers on site, which means visibility, evidence, and accountability across multiple projects and contractors are all critical. Add in sites where space is at a premium, including car parks squeezed between live hospital buildings, and the idea of a traditional, hardware-heavy approach to site management simply doesn't work.
BRG Technologies came to innDex with a clear sense of what good looked like. With experience spanning some of the UK's most complex construction programmes, and major infrastructure projects, the team knew what a platform needed to do before they went looking for one. innDex was selected following a competitive review.
Today, BRG Technologies runs geofenced mobile clock-ins across its project sites, combined with facial recognition hardware at its fixed premises in Cheltenham, Leamington, and Mitcheldean. With 13 live projects running simultaneously, that single platform gives Kamila a real-time window into everything, inductions, time management, asset status, permits, inspections, and daily safe starts, across the entire business, from one place.
EVIDENCE AT A CLICK.
One of the things BRG Technologies values most is the ability to pull evidence immediately, from anywhere. For a business that holds RoSPA Gold Awards, and ISO 45001 accreditation, demonstrating compliance is not just good practice, it is a continuous requirement.
During ISO audits, the ability to open innDex and show live, consistent evidence from every project is a genuine differentiator. Rather than piecing together records from scattered folders, BRG Technologies can show auditors exactly what is happening across sites in real time. Every induction, every inspection, every briefing sign-off is there, timestamped, formatted, and ready.
"One of the biggest advantages innDex gives us is transparency," Kamila explains. "During ISO audits, we can pull up physical evidence from any of our sites on the spot. We follow the same system and the same process on every project, which means our accreditation bodies can see exactly how we work, and we can prove it."
THE FULL PICTURE, SITE TO BOARD.
Kamila uses innDex's dashboards and Power BI reporting to turn operational data into board-ready insight. For a senior leadership team that needs to understand performance across 13 projects without being on site, the ability to see trends visually, from inspection scores and observation patterns to workforce numbers and compliance rates, is critical.
When health and safety inspections flag a pattern, such as consistent findings around slips, trips, and falls, the dashboard makes it visible and actionable. The team can target where the next focus needs to be and demonstrate to leadership that they are responding with evidence, not instinct.
"When data is presented visually, people can understand it at a glance without needing to read through pages of reports," Kamila says. "That's where the dashboards really come into their own."
COMMERCIAL CONFIDENCE, BACKED BY DATA.
The evidence trail that innDex creates has real commercial value too. BRG Technologies' time management records give the business accurate, timestamped proof of workforce attendance across every project, data that can be pulled instantly to support billing, justify resource levels, and back up programme delivery. "Having that data has saved us a significant amount of money," Kamila adds. "When a client needs proof of who was on site and when, we can show them immediately. There's no grey area."
INVESTIGATIONS AND INCIDENT RECORDS.
innDex has also strengthened BRG Technologies' ability to handle incidents and investigations. If a question arises about an operative involved in an incident, the team can pull every relevant record: their training history, competency status, whether they completed the daily safe start that morning, which RAMS they were signed on to, and whether the piece of equipment they were using had been inspected. All of it is in one place.
"When something happens on site, the last thing you want is to be scrambling for paperwork," Kamila explains. "With innDex, we can go straight in and trace the full picture for any individual, their training, their competencies, their inspections, everything. That gives us real confidence when we're managing investigations or responding to clients."
This has also removed the archive burden that so many construction businesses know well. BRG Technologies' records are stored digitally, GDPR-friendly, and retrievable instantly, with no boxes of paper to scan, file, or eventually shred at project end.
INSPECTIONS BUILT FOR PURPOSE.
Because innDex makes it straightforward to create and roll out new inspection templates, BRG has built a library of around 20 different inspection types tailored to their specific projects and activities. Where paper-based processes made creating bespoke checklists impractical, the digital format has made it easy, and the team uses it extensively as a result.
Healthcare projects run a pre-start inspection focused on welfare arrangements. Site managers carry out plans versus actual walkarounds. Individual tools and templates have been built to match the particular risk profile of each project type. The ease of setup has driven genuine adoption.
"Because it's so quick and easy to build a new inspection template and roll it out across all our sites, we find ourselves using that function far more than we ever would have done with paper," Kamila says. "It's become a real part of how we manage our projects."
ASSET MANAGEMENT: FROM LEGAL MANDATORY TO DAILY HABIT.
BRG Technologies uses innDex to manage a wide range of assets across its project sites and fixed premises. Plant and machinery with daily inspection requirements are logged as standard, but the team has gone further, adding fire extinguishers with individual QR code tags, emergency lighting, boiler and air conditioning service records, and fixed facility maintenance checks.
QR codes have been a particular win. Rather than scrolling through a long list to find the right asset, operatives walk up to a piece of kit, scan the code on their phone, and the inspection is in front of them instantly. BRG Technologies is now working to have QR codes pre-printed into plant stickers so that as assets arrive on site, they can be registered and tagged in one step.
"It's a simple thing, but it makes a real difference," Kamila says. "People can just walk up to a piece of equipment, scan the QR code, and carry out their inspection on the spot. No searching, no scrolling, no paperwork. That's the kind of efficiency that actually sticks."
THREE YEARS IN, AND STILL BUILDING.
BRG Technologies is open about the fact that getting to this point has taken commitment. Cultural change in construction does not happen overnight, and embedding a new platform across a fast-moving, multi-site business requires persistence. Three years in, that investment is paying off.
The health and safety support manages oversight across more than a dozen projects by staying disciplined about what goes in. Because the data is entered consistently, what comes out is accurate and usable. Power BI dashboards give leadership a real-time view. Audit bodies get evidence on demand. The commercial team can prove what happened and when.
"It's taken time to get everyone using the system the way we want them to," Kamila reflects. "But now that we're there, the value is clear. The information is always there when you need it, and that changes everything."
For a business that moves as fast as BRG Technologies, that is exactly the kind of foundation that supports what comes next.
