innDex, a construction technology company founded by Cardiff University alumni, has announced its sponsorship of Cardiff University Rugby Club, marking a return to their roots and a commitment to supporting the next generation of students and future industry leaders.
Co-founders George Smithies and Aaron Vousden first crossed paths as civil engineering students at Cardiff University, sharing both the classroom and the rugby field. After graduation, they moved to London to begin their careers as civil engineers, where first-hand experience of the industry’s challenges later inspired them to launch innDex, a construction platform that connects the whole site and supply chain, connecting people and processes, making sure nothing gets missed. The partnership is not only a nod to their shared history but also part of a wider focus to strengthen the connection between Cardiff graduates, London Welsh rugby, and careers in construction.
The sponsorship aims to provide immediate support to Cardiff University Rugby Club while also laying the groundwork for longer-term initiatives, such as bursaries for engineering students and prizes for outstanding work. As sponsors of both Cardiff University Rugby Club and London Welsh RFC, innDex aims to strengthen the pathway between the two teams, giving students the chance to continue playing rugby at a high level after graduation while building their professional careers in London. Through these efforts, innDex hopes to inspire young talent into the construction sector, address the industry’s skills shortage, and create a lasting impact that supports students both during their university years and as they take their next steps.
